about

This song turns toward a new direction in my music journey. The lyrics feel more genuine and the instrumentation feels more grounded. A delicate mix of electric piano and acoustic strings creates a warm atmosphere that fits nicely into the indie-folk genre. With it's message of finding closure, I hope Avalanche speaks to you.

The cover art was painted by Morgan L. Swartz. Beyond just a painting, this is one frame of an experimental stop-motion animated cover art project. Visit my socials to view the animated version of the art!

lyrics

---VERSE 1---
Told myself that this would not happen again.
I shouldn’t have come back.

Coated my hands in soot
Combing through ashes looking for some sad

Indication of a second chance
Will these inclinations cause an avalanche?

---VERSE 2---
Made up some lame excuse
To see her again but maybe that’s foolish

What more I got to lose?
Just opened my ribcage. Spent all my fuel on

Denial, pressing through to missing sleep
Denali sized cliffs of frozen grief

---VERSE 3---
The rubble falls on my shoulders
Just a little worse cuz I thought we’d work it
out

The end had been overdue
But I’d do it over. I wouldn’t

Change a single moment of our past
Seasons change and these winter omens come to pass
